Experiencing True Change

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.[a] The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.  All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling[b] the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:17-19 ESV

True change does not come from another person (human being), a place, or a thing. Genuine change or transformation emanates from within ( the inner man). Through the Holy Spirit's transforming power, the Word of God, and the blood of the Lamb, an individual can experience true change.

Friends, if you are looking to start a new beginning in your life, a life where God is at the center of it, then it's essential to understand how this change will occur in your life. An individual must be ready to be reconciled back to God by, first of all, surrendering entirely to the Lordship of Jesus Christ (becoming born again). As scripture states in verse 19 of the text above, God was reconciling the world to Himself through Jesus Christ. Through His precious Son, Jesus Christ, the Lord God has made it possible for humankind to be reconciled back to Him. Jesus paid the ultimate price for our sins, and as a result, our trespasses were forgiven by God.  Our transgressions were no longer counted against us.

To experience a transformation in every facet of our lives, i.e., our relationships, finances, homes, ministries, academics, business, etc., we must recognize that real change begins from our inner man and radiate on the outside affecting all areas of our lives. We must realize the Holy Spirit's transformative power; we must recognize that change cannot occur without total surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We must be ready to be sold out to Him, spirit, soul, and body.

Are you looking for a new beginning today? Are you looking for true change to occur in your life? Then I will encourage you, if you haven't, to completely surrender to the Lord today, become born again into God's family. Suppose you are born again, but you are not necessarily living a life that is pleasing to the Lord, and you are currently experiencing a lot of life challenges. In that case, I encourage you to cry out to Him for mercy, for a new beginning, and a turn around in your situation.

Surrender to the Lord today and allow Him to bring out the genuine change in your life that comes from within ( the inner man).

The Role of a Grief & Loss Coach

We all have or will encounter grief at some point in our lives. No doubt, most if not all of us will experience losing a loved one ( father, mother, spouse, grandparent, etc.). The question is how to deal with it when it eventually occurs. Some will handle it in a healthy way and others will deal with loss and grief using unhealthy habits that can significantly impact their lives.

Navigating Grief takes a lot of work!

Everyone reacts to grief differently and how an individual grieves is unique to them. It can be an overwhelming and complex experience when one loses a loved one or has experienced other forms of loss, such as a relationship (i.e., divorce), financial security, etc.   For years, mental health therapists, psychologists, counselors have been the experts that individuals go to for help and support. However, in addition to these professionals, we now have the grief and loss coach.

This professional coach’s role is to help individuals properly understand the grieving process. The coach will be able to support the client with practical strategies and resources to assist them in managing the various emotional responses being experienced; in the grieving phases as they deal with their loss. A grief coach works patiently with the client respecting the client’s healing time and process to help them move forward with life, guiding them into their new normal and new reality.

As a child of God, you want to seek out a Christian Coach who specializes in grief and loss. The coach will guide you on how to move forward from a biblical perspective, following the death of a loved one or any other type of loss experienced.

Wisdom in Marriage: The Christian Home

" The wise woman builds her house, But the foolish pulls it down with her hands. " Proverbs 14:1

The reason why satan is seriously attacking the Christian home is because it is an extension of the church of Jesus Christ.  The enemy knows that the home (i.e. the family), is the building block of society.  If he is able to destroy the home, he would have succeeded in bringing down the fabric of society.  Also, when the home is broken, the church becomes spiritually sick - the work of God is immobilized as well as church growth becomes hindered.

Friends, the plan of the enemy as stated in John 10:10 is to destroy God's divine plan for humanity, and one way he is accomplishing this is by wrecking Christian marriages/homes.  And so that is why the work of the woman in the home is very crucial to God's plan for His church.

There are at least 3 ways that I believe a wise woman can build her home, and they are:

1.  A wise woman must have the right attitude

2.  A wise woman must speak the right words.  Proverbs 31:26, 21:9

3.  A wise woman must set the right example ( be a role model by words and actions).

Parenting Coaching - How Can it Help me?

Who says parenting is easy? Take it from me, It isn't. Regardless of how many children you have, there are always challenges that come with caring for children ( be it your biological children or other children that have been entrusted in your care).   Up until a few months ago, I was mom to a teenage daughter, a pre-teen son, and foster parent to a sibling group of four.   I can't believe I was a caregiver of six children consistently for the past three years while working a full time job, it felt more like 13 years.  Friends, Coworkers, Associates will refer to me as "Super Mom". People I meet for the first time while at the grocery store with my children will come up to me and state Wow, you are so strong. Really! I am neither a super mom nor strong ( not of my own doing). My strength and sanity were all utterly reliant on the power of the Holy Spirit.  I got it wrong lots of times on my own.

Without the Lord's help, my husband's support, and the support of others in my community and family, I wouldn't have been able to embark on this journey as a foster caregiver.  As a result of my personal experiences with parenting children with behavioral issues and encountering other challenges that came with parenting, I was able to help other moms facing similar experiences utilizing skills, techniques that I used as a parent.  Thanks to my training as a life coach as well. Now that I only have my teen and pre-teen boy at the moment, I do not know what to do with myself ( LOL😁).

What am I saying to you today?

There will be times you will need help trying to care for one or multiple children in your care. There is no perfect parent, you will surely make one or more mistakes along the way.  You are eventually going to need help when you may probably have to deal with a child with behavioral issues, that 12 year old or 5 year old who want to regularly test your patience and you worry that you might lose it if you don't do something fast because it's appears to be a never-ending struggle in your life, in your home. You may think you are in this alone, but you are not; there is help.  There is support in the form of a parenting coach or parent coach if you do not have anyone in your network to turn to. You might ask, what is a parenting coach?  Good question!

A parenting coach is a trained professional who assists individuals experiencing parenting challenges by providing guidance, tools, and strategies.  The parenting coach comes alongside an individual to help him or her work through parenting issues. The coach offers methods, tools, and support without treating underlying issues, like ADHD, ADD or depression. A parenting coach is NOT a behavioral health therapist or psychologist. Her approach to working with the individual is future-focused i.e. focusing on ways to help the  individual move forward in achieving realistic goals in parenting their child/children.

A parenting coach will help the individual locate ways to address behavioral issues in children.  They help find ways to deal with stress, and effective practices in caring for oneself, creating or developing plans to address the problems relating to childcare, education, health, etc.  Within an organization like a social service agency or hospital, this type of coach may sometimes work as a support team member. This team comprises a therapist, parent mentor, pediatrician, pediatric nurse, social worker to help ensure the client and the family's needs are being met.

Today, more parenting coaches are working with families of children in the foster care system, foster parents, single parents, and parents facing other forms of crisis in the home.  These professionals help individuals to stay on track to ensure their desired goals are met. They are empathetic, flexible, committed, and are ready to work with individuals in a judgment-free confidential setting.

Psalm 127:3 (NLT) - Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from Him

Friends, children are a blessing from the Lord, and as parents, He has given us the assignment of training and nurturing these little ones, but of course, we cannot do it alone; at some point, we need to know when to ask for help when life situations such as health challenges get in the way.

Trained individuals who are also believers, just like you, can help you along the way to be the best parent you can be for your children.  Allow the Lord to use these individuals in your life to offer guidance and support.

And so....

Moving Forward With Life Coaching

“The LORD our God spoke to us in Horeb, saying: ‘You have dwelt long enough at this mountain. Turn and take your journey, and go to the mountains of the Amorites, to all the neighboring places in the plain, in the mountains and in the lowland, in the South and on the seacoast, to the land of the Canaanites and to Lebanon, as far as the great river, the River Euphrates. See, I have set the land before you; go in and possess the land which the LORD swore to your fathers—to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—to give to them and their descendants after them.’ Deuteronomy 1:6-8 NKJV

The Lord, our God, said to us in Horeb, you have dwelt long enough on this mountain. Have you stayed long enough in the same situation?  Have you allowed wrong thinking (mindsets), wrong decisions, bad influences prevent you from moving forward in your life to where God desires you to be?

Like the Israelites, a journey that should have taken you only a few days is taking you over 5, 10, 20 years to attain. If this is you? Then, its time to wake up and say enough is enough. Are you ready to be honest with yourself? Are you prepared to say this to yourself?  "I am tired of staying in the same place, being stagnant while others are moving forward.  I am still in the same space I was yesterday; I want more out of my life; I want to fulfill my God-ordained purpose. I want to go back to school. I want to get married, I want to start a business, I want a new career, I want to do ministry work, etc." If this is your declaration today, then let's chat.

As Professional Life Coaches, we are able to guide the individual towards her destination; where the Lord had purposed her to be. We rely on the power of the Holy Spirit to help destroy wrong mindsets, strongholds that have kept the individual paralyzed for too long. Its time to take your possession!

A type of mentality or frame of mind known as the "wilderness mentality" keeps an individual bound, stagnant, paralyzed. Let the truth of God's Word sink into your life and set you free from this type of mentality.

Reach out to us today, and let's work together in disrupting those things hindering you from moving forward in your life's journey.

Shalom.

Addiction Recovery Coaching

A few years ago, when I worked at a State-run Detox and Rehabilitation facility, I did not know how much my life was going to become impacted (both personally & professionally). Coming from a sheltered background, I thought I had seen it all when I took on a job as a House Manager a couple of years before at a Homeless Shelter.  I never knew that my life would be changed forever by patients at this drug and alcohol facility.

My heart broke for these men and women whom God had created in His own image. It was difficult to witness people struggling from this horrible sickness of drug and alcohol addiction, their spirits and bodies were broken and many believed there was no hope of beating the addiction, but they still kept coming for treatment. Each day I came to work, I saw it as my mission field.  I was truly blessed that God had chosen me as a vessel to be used for His glory in this place. While working there, I met those who believed in God.  Those who didn't, and another group that didn't want to have anything to do with Him. I managed to, when the opportunity presented itself to share my faith with as many as would like to listen, both staff and patients alike, just showing up everyday to serve with a smile  and it was from there the Lord called me into full-time Christian service.

As a professional life coach specializing in addiction recovery and an ordained minister, I am able to impact these precious souls' lives more for Christ outside a restricted setting; ( i.e being able to serve my clients more effectively in a faith based  outpatient environment once they have undergone medical detox and rehab.

With the Holy Spirit's guidance, I aim to transform individuals' lives by first changing their mindset ( the way they think).  "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what that good is, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2."   Once the mind has been transformed, the thought process changed, then we can now move forward to helping the individual make better life decisions, which will eventually result in living  joyous, victorious and fulfilling lives.

If you or someone you know is struggling with one addiction or the other, and  believe that the resurrection power of the Lord Jesus can heal and make you free, reach out to us today.  We are more than happy to work with you, taking you from where you are now to where you want to be in your life's journey.

With God all things are truly possible!!!
