Christ-Centered Mentoring

What to Know About The Mentoring Relationship!

Spiritual or Christ Centered Mentoring is a process through which the mentor offer his or her experience or expertise from a biblical perspective; guiding the mentee into living a victorious Christian life. The mentor also offers support to individuals that are less experienced than they are.

mentor is typically referred to as “an experienced and trusted advisor” and can serve as a teachercounselor, and advocate to those looking up to them for guidance. Our Lord Jesus Christ is the perfect example of a spiritual mentor.

A Christ Centered Mentor provides the following to the individual he or she serves:

Encouragement: It is pertinent to uplift the hearts of your mentees; a listening ear and a shoulder to lean on go a long way.

Compassion: Showing empathy and genuine concern in the things that matter to your mentee should always be visible in the relationship.

Prayer: Be ready to stand in the gap for your student/mentee when necessary.

Training: The mentee must be able to disciple and mentor others as a result of what they have learned from you.

Support: Your students/mentees must be confident knowing that you are there to direct and support them in their personal and professional pursuits.

"Fostering a relationship is crucial in mentoring. Be aware that the mentoring relationship is personal and confidential; therefore trust will mostly take time to develop."

Getting Rid of The Unforgiveness and Bitterness

 A Message on Forgiveness

Harboring bitterness and unforgiveness is dangerous to our personal life and to our relationship with Jesus Christ. It's not worth losing our sanity over and most importantly losing heaven over. Don't wait until the person who hurt you come asking for forgiveness because it may never happen or if they do come, it might not be genuine. Choose today to let go and let GOD. Some 16 years ago, I was deeply hurt by someone very close to me and it took the power of the Holy Spirit for me to let go. I was consumed with anger and bitterness; it affected my job, my day to day living until one day the LORD used Joyce Meyer's message on forgiveness to deliver me. I guess at that point the Lord was saying to me enough is enough! I broke down right there and then asking God for mercy. At that moment, I let go and instantly began to feel the peace of God & within a few weeks I began to experience open doors in my life... It was wonderful to finally meet Joyce Meyer in person years later and just appreciate God for her life and ministry. I am not sure why I am sharing this today.. I believe someone needs to be encouraged today. It's a word in season!

Let's take this as our prayer point this week praying for ourselves and each other.
Lord Jesus break me free from every root of bitterness, suppressed anger and unforgiveness I harbor towards those who have hurt me. Give me the grace to forgive and trust you to handle it...
I pray this day for divine healing and deliverance in my life.
Thank you Jesus for hearing and answering me today.

God is Doing a New Thing

"Behold, I am doing a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
and rivers in the desert." Isaiah 43:19
Sometimes life has a way of pulling you down, getting you frustrated and leaving you feeling hopeless. You feel there is no way out because you have tried different things and it just doesn't seem to work. God is telling you and me today in this scripture verse, that He will do a new thing in your life that will bring about a turn around in that stagnant situation, that problem that has been lingering on for days, weeks, years. Jesus is the Way Maker, the Light in the darkness and He will always make a way where there appears to be no way.
Hold on to Jesus today my friends. He is your only way out.

Working with a Christian Life Coach

When you work with a Christian Life Coach, you invite God into the process.  Doing all the work by yourself, without support can be quite challenging.  A Christian Life Coach in partnership with the Holy Spirit helps you (the client) to see your blind spots in a safe and judgment-free environment.

"As a Christian Life Coach, my job is to partner with you to offer support, encouragement to enhance the skills, resources, and creativity that you already have.  I also challenge you in order to enable you to strive to be all that God has in mind for you to become. "  Dr. MK Olubiyi
